Especial Blur - Modern Life Is Rubbish. O segundo álbum do Blur não fez tanto sucesso quanto o seu antecessor, Leisure. Isso contribuiu para a queda da popularidade da banda e coincidiu com o sucesso do Suede, um dos pilares do britpop. O lançamento deste álbum também coincidiu com a época que o Grunge estava em alta e este é outro motivo pela má recepção do disco.

Special Blur - Modern Life Is Rubbish. Blur's second album was not so successful than their predecessor, Leisure. This contributed to the fall of popularity and coincided with the success of Suede, one of the column of Britpop. The release of this album also coincided with the rising of Grunge and thus, this is another reason of poor reception.

Entretanto, não foi incluído no álbum por mudança no estilo após a má recepção deste som. No documentário "The Britpop History" de John Harris, "Popscene" é considerado o primeiro registro do estilo Britpop, ao lado de "The Drowners" do Suede.

Special Blur - Single. "Popscene" was to be the first single of the Blur's second album, "Modern Life Is Rubbish". Meanwhile, it was not included on album due to the change of style after the poor reception of this tune. In the documentary "The Britpop History" written by John Harris, "Popscene" is considered the first register of Britpop style, along "The Drowners" by Suede.

Especial Blur - Leisure. O Blur é formado pelo vocalista Damon Albarn, o guitarrista Graham Coxon, o baixista Alex James e o baterista Dave Rowntree. Apesar de algumas faixas de Leisure serem rotuladas como shoegaze ("She's So High" é shoegaze), outras faixas foram influenciadas pela cena musical em Manchester, pela levada ora dançante, ora psicodélica. "There's No Other Way" tem essa influência Madchester.

Despite some tracks of Leisure were labelled as shoegaze ("She's So High" is shoegaze), other tracks were influenced by musical scene in Manchester, whose rhythm is dancing and psychedelic, every now and then. "There's No Other Way" has this Madchester influence.

Especial Blur - Leisure. Blur é uma banda inglesa que surgiu em Londres. Em 1988, o nome da banda era Seymour mas decidiram mudar anos depois. O álbum de estréia é Leisure e o primeiro single da carreira do Blur é "She's So High". Dá pra ver a cara de moleque do Damon Albarn no clipe.

The debut album is Leisure and the first single of Blur's career is "She's So High". It's easy to see the little boy's face of Damon Albarn in this video.

Não é de hoje que me sugeriram criar um blog. Por um misto entre falta de tempo - e por que não dizer falta de interesse - nunca fui atrás de como montar um. Até que voltaram a me dar esta sugestão, percebi que havia tempo e interesse e resolvi ver como ficaria.

Desde 2012, comecei a postar vídeos no Facebook, como uma forma de divulgação para meus amigos conhecerem as bandas que eu gosto, de maneira que através destes clipes o pessoal tenha um apanhado geral da carreira da banda. O resultado foi que o pessoal gostou da idéia e passei a fazer "especiais", onde meus amigos selecionam a banda por meio de votação e eu posto clipes da banda com informações da trajetória dos músicos, curiosidades e história da composição de determinada faixa. Em 2012, houve especiais das seguintes bandas: Florence & The Machine, Wallflowers, Black Crowes, Garbage, Pink Floyd, The Cure, Ramones e Alice In Chains.

Em 2013, alterei um pouco o sistema de seleção das bandas, funcionando da seguinte maneira:
- Uma banda da minha escolha;
- Uma banda alternativa*, escolhida por votação;
- Uma big band/banda de muito sucesso, escolhida por votação.

As razões para a alteração na escolha da banda deve-se para garantir uma melhor variedade das bandas e dar mais espaço para as bandas pequenas. Houve ocasiões em que ocorria disputas desleais, então acredito que desta maneira seja possível favorecer todos os lados.

Também devo usar este espaço para divulgar o que acho interessante, o que vale a pena ser compartilhado, que traga algum valor e que seja incrível e fascinante dentro do meu ponto de vista.

*Sei que ultimamente é difícil de rotular uma banda de mainstream ou underground. A intenção aqui não foi somente considerar bandas de estilo alternativo, como também bandas de sucesso não tão expressivo.

It's not from today that some friends suggested me to create a blog. By a combination between lack of time - and why not to say lack of interest - I've never looked for how to create one. Then, my friends suggested me again and now I have time and interest enough to do it, so I managed to see how it works.

Since 2012, I've started to post videos on Facebook, as a form to show to my friends to know bands I like, in a way that through these clips people have a general knowledge about crew's career. The result was my friends has enjoyed the idea and I've begun to make "specials", where my friends have chosen the band by poll and I post videos with information about musician's path, curiosities and history of composition of some tracks. In 2012, there were specials of the following groups: Florence & The Machine, Wallflowers, Black Crowes, Garbage, Pink Floyd, The Cure, Ramones and Alice In Chains. 
In 2013, I've modified the system of selection, working on this way:
- One band that I choose by myself;
- One alternative* band, chosen by poll;
- One big band/band with an enormous success, chosen by poll.

The reasons of changes in band's choice must assure a wide variety of crews and give more space to the one hit wonders, for example. There were occasions where unfair contests were happened, then I believe this way it's possible to support all the sides.

I must use this space to show what I think it's interesting, what I assume it should be shared, which brings some worth and it's amazing and fascinating within my point of view.

*I know it's hard to label a band of mainstream or underground nowadays. The intention here was not only consider alternative bands, but also not so successful bands as well.
